Youngs Seafood

Working in partnership for over 25 years.

The Company – Tracing its roots back to 1805, Youngs Seafoods has grown to become a household name in supermarkets, restaurants and homes across the nation. Turnover now exceeds £600m and the company operates from 12 manufacturing sites across the UK, employing over 3,000 people.

Objective –  Having managed Youngs’ print management needs for over 25 years, our reputation for quality of product and service continues to meet the needs of this huge company. Canon’s robust, premium quality printers, photocopiers and wide format printers ensure that maximum value for money can be achieved by the customer.

  • Existing printer fleet was a drain on time and IT resources
  • Requirement to reduce the number of desktop printers and ensure accurate management of entire fleet
  • Centralise management for all UK-wide branches
  • Manage usage permissions to reduce costs

Going out to national tender, Youngs Seafoods wanted ongoing reassurance that they can rely on their Managed Print Services (MPS) provider. We have provided a reassuringly good service for over 25 years.

The adoption of innovative technology and working practices is second nature to Ideal. That’s why the collaboration was the right choice when it came to improving efficiency and gaining business insights.

The Solution

With a fleet of over 100 devices, ranging from desktop laser printers, through to larger multi-functional devices, it is of paramount importance to Youngs that we have an effective account management process. This not only ensures that the customer is provided with Canon’s best-in-class office printers and photocopiers, but also that their ongoing and ever-changing needs are met, thereby ensuring maximum productivity and minimum business disruption.

As part of the overall print optimisation solution, our use of cutting-edge technology provides Youngs with secure, confidential printing throughout the organisation without providing staff with personal printers.

Print usage is closely controlled, whereby print jobs are held on a central server until the user authenticates them using a four-digit PIN on the device of choice. This is just one way that we put the customer back in control of their costs, providing visibility overprinting and delivering improved document security, ensuring sensitive data is protected. Document and device management software really has transformed printing throughout this huge corporate organisation.

“We’ve gained in so many ways. Print-related costs have been substantially reduced, we have far fewer devices, which are more flexible and resilient, and we have the right machines in the right places. All of this allows us to focus on our own business without having to worry about print.”
